Managing Properties & Spaces on SupaSpace
Learn how properties and spaces work on SupaSpace, how to add a new property, manage spaces within properties, and record ownership details with Title Search.
What Is a Property?
Properties are the physical assets that contain spaces or, in some cases, are spaces themselves.
On SupaSpace, a property can represent many types of physical assets, including:
-
Buildings.
-
Land.
-
Billboards.
-
Houses.
-
Commercial buildings.
-
Other physical assets that can contain or represent an acquirable space.
A useful way to think about it is:
A property is the physical asset, while a space is the part of that property that guests can acquire.
However, there are situations where the entire property itself is what the guest wants to acquire.
1. How Properties Work on SupaSpace π
On SupaSpace, properties fall into two distinct structural categories:
-
Entire Property Acquisition: The property itself is being sold, rented, or leased as a single unit (e.g., a standalone house for sale or a plot of land). In this setup, SupaSpace automatically generates a underlying space that represents the property itself.
-
Multi-Space Property Acquisition: The main property houses individual spaces or sub-units available for acquisition (e.g., an apartment complex, hotel, or commercial office building). Guests acquire individual spaces inside the property rather than the property itself.
How to Add a Property
Adding a property is the first step toward listing a space on SupaSpace.
Follow these steps to add a property.
Step 1: Go to the Properties Page
From your Host Dashboard, navigate to the Properties page.
Step 2: Click Add Property
Click Add Property to begin creating your property.
If you are using a mobile device, the button may be hidden to provide more screen space.
If you cannot see the button:
-
Look for the drop-down arrow.
-
Click the arrow to reveal the available actions.
-
Click Add Property.
Step 3: Enter Your Property Details
Enter the requested information about your property.
Make sure the information accurately describes the physical asset you are adding.
Step 4: Select the Acquisition Type
Choose whether:
-
The entire property is for acquisition, or
-
The spaces within the property are for acquisition.
This selection determines how SupaSpace handles the spaces associated with the property.
If the property itself is for acquisition, SupaSpace creates a space representing the property.
If the spaces within the property are for acquisition, you will need to add those spaces separately.
Step 5: Select the Neighborhood
Select the neighborhood where the property is located.
Search for your neighborhood using the neighborhood selector.
Can't Find Your Neighborhood?
If your neighborhood does not appear in the search results, you can add it through Persona.
The neighborhood search modal contains an Add Your button.
Click it to go to Persona's new neighborhood page, where you can add the neighborhood.
After adding the neighborhood, return to SupaSpace and select it as the property's location.
Step 6: Add the Remaining Details
Complete any other required or relevant property information.
When you are finished, save the property.
Step 7: Add Property Images
After saving the property, open the property and click Edit Property.
From there, you can add images of:
-
The property.
-
The surrounding area.
-
Other relevant views of the property.
Tip: Good property images help guests understand what they are looking at before they interact with your listing. Use clear and relevant images that accurately represent the property and its surroundings.
Viewing a Property
After adding a property, click on it from the Properties page to view its details.
The property details page shows information about the property and the spaces associated with it.
What you see depends on the type of property you created.
If the Property Itself Is for Acquisition
A space will have been automatically created for the property.
This space represents the property in the acquisition process.
You can open and edit that space to complete its information.
If Spaces Within the Property Are for Acquisition
The property will not have a space automatically created for it.
You must add the spaces that you want to make available for acquisition.
How to Add a Space to a Property
If the property itself is not being acquired and you want to make one or more spaces within it available, you need to add those spaces.
To add a space:
1. Open the Property
Go to the Properties page and select the property where you want to add the space.
2. Click Add Space
On the property details page, click Add Space.
3. Enter the Space Details
Enter the initial information requested for the space.
At this stage, you are creating the basic structure of the space.
4. Save and Continue
Save the space and continue with the remaining setup.
Important: Adding a space from the property details page is the first step toward completing your space for publication.
You will need to provide the required space information and configuration before the space can be published and made available for guests to see.
Property Ownership
SupaSpace also allows you to optionally provide ownership information for a property.
This information can be added using the + Title Search button.
A title search can contain information about the ownership of the property.
Adding ownership information is optional.
How to Add a Title Search
To add ownership information:
-
Open the property.
-
Click + Title Search.
-
Enter the title search name.
-
Enter a description.
-
Save the title search.
After saving it, you can add the actual content of the title search.
The content can contain the relevant ownership details associated with the property.
Note: Adding a title search is optional. You can choose whether or not to provide ownership information for your property.
Property and Space: How They Work Together
Understanding the relationship between a property and its spaces is important when listing on SupaSpace.
Think of it this way:
Property = the physical asset
Space = what guests acquire
For example, imagine you own a building containing ten apartments.
The building is the property.
Each apartment can be a space.
If you want to rent or sell the apartments individually, you would create the building as a property and add each apartment as a space.
On the other hand, if you want to sell the entire building, the property itself is the acquisition target. SupaSpace creates a space representing the entire property so that it can be offered for acquisition.
This structure allows SupaSpace to support both simple properties and properties containing multiple independently acquirable spaces.
What's Next? π
Once your property has been created and your spaces have been added, the next step is to complete the space setup.
A complete space can then be configured with things such as:
-
Space features.
-
Payment options.
-
Extra costs.
-
Local taxes.
-
Conditions and agreements.
-
Images.
-
Other information required for publication.
Once everything is properly configured, your space can be prepared for guests to discover and acquire through SupaSpace.
Create the property. Add your spaces. Complete the setup. Then let guests discover what you have to offer. π β¨
